On the 8th of October, 250 girls from 29 schools, from all around Leinster, came to Dublin Castle to meet female engineers who are passionate about their profession and careers.
The girls who were accompanied by parents and teachers, had a chance to interact with 55 volunteers in the Printworks Conference Centre at Dublin Castle. Our very own Aislinn was on hand as one of the volunteers at the event organised by Engineers Ireland’s STEPS team. The aim of the event was to encourage young girls to consider engineering as a viable and exciting career choice.
‘It was great to see so many young girls interested in engineering, I hope we were able to give some insight into what it is like to be an engineer and work on exciting projects.’ (Aislinn)
JAE hopes to see events like this continue in the future, encouraging young people is a very important step in developing Ireland’s future.
